It has been 2 weeks since my last post, but there has been plenty going on. This past week end, we had the pleasure of an impromptu trick to
Lebonheur Children's hospital for my 4 week old daughter. Apparently 101-102 degree fevers and infants don't mix to well and medical personnel tend to freak out (as do the Parents;). It ended up being a pesky virus, but we ended up spending 2 days in the hospital watching our little Stella, get
IV's, x-rays and spinal taps. NOT FUN! IT was really hard watching them prick and prod her. It probably was worse on my wife and I than it was her, since she won't remember it. All is well now though, and I hope we don't have to do that ever again.
Not much to report on the training side. Been taking it a bit easy the past couple weeks with some short runs and some weekend bike rides. That all changes today, as I start to ramp up again for the Music City Triathlon at the end of July and then the season
ender in Cedar Point, Ohio with the Rev3 Triathlon people (
http://www.rev3tri.com/). Also, sometime this week, I will be placing my order with
www.firstendurance.com for my race and training nutrition supplies so, I can dial that aspect of the race in.
Now time for some triathlon retrospect....I have decided that I love this sport! Now matter how bad a race I have, or how miserable I feel after a day of long training, I look forward to the next day of it. There is a real since of accomplishment in it all and then to be able to try new products and learn from other experienced
triathlon'ers...it is wonderful. Thanks to
http://www.rev3tri.com/,
www.saucony.com,
www.firstendurance.com,
http://www.all3sports.com/,
www.kestrelbicycles.com,
www.tri-swim.com, and most of all to
www.Trakkers.com and all my teammates. Can't wait to meet you guys at Cedar Point!
ps....I am also seriously considering doing the Rev3 event in Costa Rica next year...it looks AWESOME! Check it out
